Venture Ashridge

Follow us through twisting forest tracks and over chalk downs as we show you the wilder corners of the Ashridge Estate. There are so many paths in the area that we can guarantee that you will never run the same route twice! This event is based at our friends Lovelo Cycle Works in Berkhamsted. Meet us there for a fully supported group run and join us afterwards in a cosy pub to share your stories and ask any questions you may have of our expert team.

Common Questions

Q- What level of fitness do I need to take part?

A- We will have a number of groups available on the night. We recommend that you can run at least 5 miles on the road for you to enjoy yourself fully. Most groups will take walking breaks if needed and no one will ever be left behind. Our groups are all run at a social pace and there will be lots of opportunities for you to learn the skills needed to improve your trail running.

Q- What equipment do I need?

A- The weather in Britain is very changeable as we all know so we strongly advise that you come for a run with us with that in mind. Ask yourself questions like. “Are we going to be running in the dark?” “How long are we going to be out for?” Here are some things that we recommend you bring for our mid week runs but all you really need is some common-sense.

– Trail shoes are advised but in dry weather road shoes will be fine.

– Wicking top and suitable shorts or leggings

– Extra layer. you can get very cold on the trails even on nice days if you are forced to stop but use your common sense and dress appropriately for the time of the year.

– We recommend you carry a light weight waterproof jacket

– Warm or sun cap depending on weather

– Sun cream

– Water- around 250ml-500ml

– Trail snacks

– Map and compass of the area if you have one but our guides will have one or know the way

– Fully charged phone in a waterproof bag

– and of course a light weight running bag/vest to put it all in.

The may seem intimidating but don’t let this stop you joining us. You will be running with experienced runners and really all you need is a pair of trainers and some common sense.
